
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 3 Tablespoons baking powder
- 8 eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 Teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cans Evaporated Milk
- 2 cans Condensed Milk
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tub Whipped cream (1 cup, plus more to decorate)
- Fruit, to decorate
Procedure
- Preheat oven to 350° F.
- Combine flour and baking powder. Set aside.
- Separate the yolk and egg whites.
- In a large mixing bowl, mix the yolks. Then mix in sugar.
- Alternating, add small amounts of milk and flour mixture to the yolk and sugar bowl. Mix in between. (Start with flour and end with milk.)
- Beat egg whites till spongy, then add egg whites to mixture.
- Add a couple drops of vanilla and mix.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 1 hour.
- In a pitcher, combine 1 cup of milk, 2 cans evaporated milk, 2 cans of condensed milk, 1 cup Whipped cream.
- After cake has baked and cooled, pierce cake several times with a fork.
- Pour milk mixture over the top of the cooled cake and allow the cake to sit and absorb the milk mixture.
- Spread whipped cream on cake and decorated with desired fruit.
- Refrigerate till cool and ready to serve. (The colder the better. Best if prepared a day early.)
